FACTORS AND COMPONENTS OF LIFE SUCCESS AMONG MODERN STUDENT YOUTH

Abstract
Background. The study of success, its components and factors influencing its achievement seems to be a relevant direction due to its becoming a leading social value of modern times. Life success is associated with setting and achieving certain goals. Each individual understands its content in his/her own way, which entails differentiation of individual models of success based on different criteria. In addition, a number of objective and subjective factors influence life success. The aim of the study is to analyze ideas of modern students about the components of life success and factors that have an impact on setting and achieving main life goals. Materials and methods. The study of the youth perceptions of factors and criteria of life success is based on the materials of the authors research among university students in Penza and Saratov, as well as on the data from the sociological studies on success presented by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre and the Russian Public Opinion Foundation. Results. The attitude of student youth to success is considered, understanding of success on part of youth is revealed, and students perceptions of the main components of life and professional success, as well as factors of their achievement and personal strategies are characterized. Conclusions. The results of the study reveal that modern youth view success from the perspective of setting goals, choosing means and ways to achieve them. Family status and material welfare are among the main components of life success for students. Both subjective and objective factors are important in achieving life success. These are hard work, useful connections and luck. The main qualities of a successful individual are goal commitment and diligence.
